The Northern Warriors defeated
Majlis Bandaraya Alor Setar (MBAS) 2-1 in a soccer friendly played yesterday at Field B. The team had to revamp its usual 4-3-3 formation and played with the 4-4-2 formation due to the inavailability of certain players due to the ongoing examinations as well injuries. The players were also seen to be very exausted and tired as the result of insufficient rest. The visitors took the lead in the 28th minute. UUM later equalized through
Mohd Saiful Islam Ghazali (pic) after striker
Adam Alkhindi Akbar was fouled in the penalty box. The winning goal came later in the second half from
Adam Alkhindi Akbar who ran into the box and rarmmed into the goal from close range.
Overall, despite their tireness, the coaches were happy with their attitude and commitment towards the game. However, the team needs to improve drastically their communication on the field as that was the most important aspect lacking in their game. The team will next play the Super League side,
Kuala Muda NAZA FC on
Friday, April 24th at Field B. The match will kick-off at 5.15pm.
